My Story
As far back as I can remember, I have always been creating something. My earliest memory is glueing seashells onto pieces of wood, adding a notepad and pen, and selling them at the local school fair. I would also sell earrings I made using anything I found around the house, selling them to my mom’s friends during Tuesday night bingo. In my teenage years I learned to sew, knit, and crochet and instead of spending my lunch hours at McDonalds with my friends, I would hit the fabric store with my HomeEc teacher, Mrs. Mitchell. I think I was the only one in grade 10 who made their own clothes. While on maternity leave with my firstborn, I started making jewellery as a way to bring in extra money. I was very successful with it and would spend every spare minute I had when my son slept making whatever I could. My jewellery business and skillset grew to include lampworking and metalsmithing, and I could be found selling my wares at the local markets around Calgary. Fast forward 20 years and I am still learning and creating. I have put endless miles on my Cricut making pictures, art, shirts, and handmade cards, and most recently have learned to weave on a 1970s Leclerc loom making wraps, scarves, blankets and tea towels. Working with resin is my latest passion and one I am thoroughly enjoying. Every day I learn more and have a million ideas running through my head that I can’t wait to share.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for visiting my page and supporting me through this latest journey.
Sincerely, Tracey.
